'Life In The Old Dog Yet' is a loose and impressionistic portrait based on my daughter's dog Lucy who is a Collie and Jack Russel cross. Another break from my usual realism and detail. Although I am told the likeness is perfect, in this style I tend to concentrate on the personality and character of the dog and I think it comes through in this portrait. Lucy is quite an elderly girl but full of life and vitality. Using my Daniel Smith watercolours with acrylic inks over a freehand pencil sketch I've chosen the most vivid palette possible. So if you like intense colour and a touch of humour in your paintings, then look no further!
Approximately 15.5 x 11.5 inches, this painting is presented in a pale mount within a yew effect frame with a gold sight edge, to a total size of about 23 x 19.5 inches, ready to hang. It is signed on the front and will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
